The Grand Staff & Clef Basics
Piano sheet music uses two 5-line staves joined by a brace called the Grand Staff. The top staff uses the Treble Clef (G-Clef) for right-hand melody notes, while the bottom staff uses the Bass Clef (F-Clef) for left-hand bass notes.
